Dr. John Govostes

Dr. Govostes received his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire and then went to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his dental degree (D.M.D.) and then later his specialty training in Periodontology. Dr. Govostes is a Board Certified Periodontist. Dr. Govostes limits his clinical practice to the field of Periodontics which focuses on patient education as well as the preservation of teeth through various non-surgical and surgical therapy modalities in the treatment of gum diseases (periodontitis), as well as implant dentistry and the treatment of other oral pathologic conditions associated with the mouth.

Dr. Neha Sood

Dr. Neha Sood, BDS, DMD graduated from Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and is associated with the ADA and MDS. She works as a general dentist who provides high-quality restorative work, along with endodontic and minor oral surgical procedures. Dr. Sood provides quality care for adults and children. Before attending Boston University, she received her Bachelors of Dental Surgery from India in 2010. Besides dentistry, she enjoys spending time alongside family and friends. Swimming and exercise are top priority during her free time. On the weekends, she loves to explore new restaurants and landscapes.

Asly Rodriguez
Office Manager

Asly has been in the dental field since July 2012 and enjoys learning about our patients on an individual basis to enhance their dental experience. She is HIPPA and OSHA certified. Asly will help create personalized treatment plans for each and every patient. She is an expert when it comes to any billing or insurance related questions. Asly’s favorite thing is helping patients relax before their treatment and providing a comfortable and friendly environment!

Kathryn Bustamante
Dental Assistant & Receptionist

Kathryn joined the Mayani Dental Group team in January 2016. You will see her in both the front and back office. She began Dental Assisting in 2013 and learned the front desk in 2017. Kathryn will help you schedule appointments and answer any questions you may have. As a scheduling coordinator she enjoys watching our patients progress as they come in for treatment. She works hard to create an organized, enjoyable and welcoming workplace. When Kathryn is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her baby brother, she is also studying Biology and learning more about Real Estate.

Alena Karkachova

Alena Karkachova moved to the United States from Minsk, Belarus almost 9 years ago, where she studied German Languages and Education. She graduated from MCC Lowell in 2014 and got licenses to practice Dental Hygiene in the states of Massachusetts and New York. Alena continued her education at Mount Ida College, where she concentrated on Education in Dental Hygiene. Alena has a great passion for her profession and enjoys interaction with variety of patients. She is currently working on her MBA and plans to continue advancing her academic path after graduating. Alena is fluent in both English and Russian.

Alexandra Murphy

Making people smile is something Ally has always enjoyed which is what attracted her to the dental field. She has the ability to make her patients comfortable and happy with their smile which brings her joy. Ally grew up in the Boston area and later attended college at MCPHS University, Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene and graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2018. Ally enjoys learning about her profession, spending time with family and traveling!

Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Heather attended Syracuse University where she attained her Bachelor’s degree in business. Heather is an aspiring dentist. She currently attends Harvard Extension School to complete required courses for dental school. To her, there is nothing more gratifying than education and helping patients overcome their dental fears. In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time outdoors, going for walks with her dog, golfing, and spending time with family.

Minu Lama
Dental Assistant

Minu graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute Dental Assistant Program in 2016 and has been with Mayani Dental Group since December 2016. She is fluent in English and Hindi. Minu attended Public Youth College in Nepal, where she graduated with a degree in finance. Her love to help people drew her to the dental field. Helping patients in any way she can. She is certified in CPR, Radiology, and OSHA. In her free time she enjoys drawing and hiking with her husband around Massachusetts.

Dear Mayani Dental family:

The health and well-being of our patients is our top priority, now and always. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, we are closely following and adhering to precautions advised by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

We want to assure you that we are taking continuous steps to ensure that our office remains a safe place for every patient. It’s important for you to know that dentists are experts in infection control. For instance, we have been trained to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as flu, HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis and all viral diseases. The precautions we take every day will also help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

We follow precautions developed by the CDC to protect both health care personnel and patients. We sterilize all instruments at 375°F after each use and clean each dental operatory after each patient visit, using surface disinfectants that kill all known infectious diseases, including coronavirus. We utilize dedicated hand wash and one-time use disposable materials which help maintain a safe environment for our patients. Our staff is regularly trained in these procedures.

Working with our facility managers, we’ve ensured that our cleaning team has a sufficient stock of supplies. We have asked them to apply additional focus and time on cleaning door handles, faucets, and other items with high-traffic hand touches. Magazines in our waiting areas are also a risk from frequent contact, so they have been removed.

Seeing your dentist is a vital investment for your general health. Our office remains open to care for our patients following the above guidelines. If you have a fever, are exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness, or have had recent contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you may be a risk to other patients or staff members. If you are experiencing fever (greater than 100.4), cough, or shortness of breath, please remain at home and contact your primary care physician immediately.
