Periodontal Specialist Care

Periodontal Care Boston MA

Periodontal Care Boston | At Mayani Dental Group, we provide premier periodontal care and services for our patients in Boston, MA and the surrounding areas. When a patient has gingivitis, this requires immediate treatment to avoid irreversible bone and tooth loss. You can protect your gums and teeth with regular brushing and cleaning as well as with regular visits to our dental office. We also have a specialist available for periodontal care.

If you have been diagnosed with (periodontal) gum disease, there are options available to help restore your dental health. Using both surgical and non-surgical remedies, the dentist will be able to halt and even reverse the gum disease to avoid tooth loss. We have a specialist in our office who can offer consultations. When a patient is suffering from periodontitis, the gums become inflamed and recede from the teeth. This creates pockets in the area where the gum has pulled away and these can become severely infected. We will work with each patient to treat their periodontitis and restore their teeth to optimal health.

Periodontal Therapy

Providing ongoing care beyond standard cleaning is a part of our comprehensive periodontal therapy. We have a specialist available for periodontal care who can consult and figure out the best treatment. This is available for individuals who have exhibited signs of gum disease and who need intervention in halting the advancement of periodontitis. In order to minimize the progression of gum disease, we provide a variety of periodontal therapy treatments including root planing, scaling, and specialized deep cleaning.

Our goal is to help our patients attain renewed dental health through ongoing care and maintenance. Schedule an appointment with us and learn more about improving your oral health, especially if you feel you would benefit from seeing our specialist for periodontal care.

What Your Dental Team Is Doing to Keep You Healthy

Dear Mayani Dental family:

The health and well-being of our patients is our top priority, now and always. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, we are closely following and adhering to precautions advised by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

We want to assure you that we are taking continuous steps to ensure that our office remains a safe place for every patient. It’s important for you to know that dentists are experts in infection control. For instance, we have been trained to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as flu, HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis and all viral diseases. The precautions we take every day will also help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

We follow precautions developed by the CDC to protect both health care personnel and patients. We sterilize all instruments at 375°F after each use and clean each dental operatory after each patient visit, using surface disinfectants that kill all known infectious diseases, including coronavirus. We utilize dedicated hand wash and one-time use disposable materials which help maintain a safe environment for our patients. Our staff is regularly trained in these procedures.

Working with our facility managers, we’ve ensured that our cleaning team has a sufficient stock of supplies. We have asked them to apply additional focus and time on cleaning door handles, faucets, and other items with high-traffic hand touches. Magazines in our waiting areas are also a risk from frequent contact, so they have been removed.

Seeing your dentist is a vital investment for your general health. Our office remains open to care for our patients following the above guidelines. If you have a fever, are exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness, or have had recent contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you may be a risk to other patients or staff members. If you are experiencing fever (greater than 100.4), cough, or shortness of breath, please remain at home and contact your primary care physician immediately.

Remember, the best way to protect yourself and your community is with everyday preventative actions, like washing hands often and disinfecting surfaces regularly. These actions will help minimize and slow the spread of the coronavirus.
