Invisalign Boston MA

Invisalign Boston are clear aligners used to straighten teeth discreetly. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign offers a less noticeable way to perfect your smile. They are virtually invisible yet very effective. The aligners are worn for two weeks before beginning a new set. Patients usually complete treatment  in 6 to 18 months. Actual treatment length depends on the severity of the misalignment. An impression is made of your mouth to create the custom-made aligners. Begin the path to straighter teeth by booking a consultation today. Mayani Dental Group offers Invisalign consultation to assure this product will offer you the best results.

How to care for the aligners

Invisalign aligners need to be worn at all times except when eating, drinking, tooth brushing, and flossing. Brush your teeth before inserting your aligners to avoid plaque and tartar buildup. Typically, the aligners need to be worn for at least 22 hours a day and switched every 2 weeks for best results. They are ultra-thin and made with polyurethane material but are very durable.

What orthodontic issues can this system correct?

Invisalign is suitable for mild to moderate misalignments. A dental exam will ultimately determine if the clear aligners are best. Common orthodontic issues, like the following, can be corrected by Invisalign.

  • Teeth crowding
  • Unnatural teeth spacing
  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Crooked or rotated teeth

Is this more expensive than traditional braces?

Patients are even more incline to choose Invisalign Boston over traditional braces because the cost is usually about the same.

Are retainers needed after treatment?

Retainers maintain your new smile. Without a retainer, teeth are likely to shift back and your smile can be misaligned again. Each patient is different. Therefore, specific instructions about your retainer use will be discussed.

What Your Dental Team Is Doing to Keep You Healthy

Dear Mayani Dental family:

The health and well-being of our patients is our top priority, now and always. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, we are closely following and adhering to precautions advised by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

We want to assure you that we are taking continuous steps to ensure that our office remains a safe place for every patient. It’s important for you to know that dentists are experts in infection control. For instance, we have been trained to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as flu, HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis and all viral diseases. The precautions we take every day will also help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

We follow precautions developed by the CDC to protect both health care personnel and patients. We sterilize all instruments at 375°F after each use and clean each dental operatory after each patient visit, using surface disinfectants that kill all known infectious diseases, including coronavirus. We utilize dedicated hand wash and one-time use disposable materials which help maintain a safe environment for our patients. Our staff is regularly trained in these procedures.

Working with our facility managers, we’ve ensured that our cleaning team has a sufficient stock of supplies. We have asked them to apply additional focus and time on cleaning door handles, faucets, and other items with high-traffic hand touches. Magazines in our waiting areas are also a risk from frequent contact, so they have been removed.

Seeing your dentist is a vital investment for your general health. Our office remains open to care for our patients following the above guidelines. If you have a fever, are exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness, or have had recent contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you may be a risk to other patients or staff members. If you are experiencing fever (greater than 100.4), cough, or shortness of breath, please remain at home and contact your primary care physician immediately.

Remember, the best way to protect yourself and your community is with everyday preventative actions, like washing hands often and disinfecting surfaces regularly. These actions will help minimize and slow the spread of the coronavirus.
